verizon fios and some history of the internet

i new some of this, ’cause a relative worked for uunet, but not all of the evolution. this forum post was a very interesting casual history lesson, with pictures a and b from caida, but it did not teach me how to host a personal web server on port 80 from home over fios. dang-blam-it! i want to do some hosting! i can’t even get an alternate port to work right, aarrgghh!
